Oxfam: Israel blocks half of Gaza need

GAZA, (PIC)– The British organization Oxfam international accused Israel of barring the arrival of more than 50 percent of the Palestinian citizens’ needs in the Gaza Strip through the closure of border crossings despite the disastrous situation of Palestinians there which was further aggravated by the war.

Commenting on the UN efforts to raise funds for Gaza, Oxfam said, in a statement received Tuesday by the PIC, money alone could not solve the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.

“It is not enough for donor countries to reach out for their check books. They must also press Israel to open up the border crossings and make sure their aid money is used effectively,” Oxfam executive director Jeremy Hobbs said.

Celebrities Boycott BBC for Gaza

CAIRO — A galaxy of British actors and directors threatened to boycott the BBC if the world’s biggest broadcaster did not reverse its decision not to air an aid appeal for the homeless population of the bombed-out Gaza Strip.

“We will never work for the BBC again unless this disgraceful decision is reversed,” they wrote in an open letter to BBC’s director-general Mark Thompson cited by The Scotsman on Tuesday, January 27.

Last week, the BBC refused to air an aid appeal by Disasters Emergency Committee, a coalition of charities including Oxfam, British Red Cross and Islamic Aid, to raise funds for the people of Gaza.

More than 1,350 people, including 437 children, were killed and 5,450 wounded in 22 days of air, sea and land Israeli attacks.

The deadly onslaught left Gaza infrastructure in tatters, with 4,100 homes totally destroyed as well as 17,000 homes, 1,500 factories, 25 mosques, 31 government buildings and 10 water or sewage pipes damaged.

GAZA, (PIC)– A report issued by the Saudi Al-Watan news paper revealed Saturday that Jewish rabbis in the Zionist entity have issued a religious edict allowing the killing of Palestinian women and children and exonerating every Jew doing such horrible thing.

According to the paper, the rabbis opined that the Israeli massacres in Gaza Strip falls in line with Jewish teachings that consider such killing as “mass punishment to the enemies”.

The paper also added that one of the rabbis opined that there would be no problem at all in exterminating the Palestinian people even if one million or more of them were killed at the hands of the occupation troops.

Why The Jews Especially Massacred The Palestinian Children?

The question of why the barbaric Israeli military aggression, which had been ongoing since the 27th December 2008, was focussing itself on slaughtering Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, has now been answered! As everybody knows, after two weeks had passed, the number of casualties caused by the holocaust have now reached over 900, and almost half of that number is made up of children. Other than because of the nature of the Jews, of not having pure hearts, the targetting of children is not a co-incidence.

A few months ago, in line with the Ramadhan of 1429 Hijriah, Khaled Misyal, the leader of Hamas, appointed around 3500 Palestinian children who have become hafidz (memorizers of Al-Quran. Those children who have memorized 30 juzs of Al-Quran have become a source of fear for the Zionist Jews. “If in the age of as young as that, they have already mastered the Quran, imagine what would they become in 20 years time from now?” Thus the thought that lingered in the mind of the Jews.

Hamas has said that the Gaza war has put an end to chances of negotiations with Israel, calling on Arabs to pressure Tel Aviv to cease its attacks on the Gaza Strip.

In a televised speech on Saturday, Khaled Meshaal, the exiled-Hamas political leader, said Israel’s offensive on Gaza, which has killed more than 850 Palestinians, had failed because Hamas was still firing rockets at Israel.

“You have finished off the last chance and breath for settlement and negotiations,” Meshaal said.

The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 854 and more than 3,650 injured as the Israeli offensive entered its third week.

The air and ground attacks continued on Sunday with Israeli aircraft bombarding different targets in the strip and ground forces advancing further into the outskirts of Gaza City.

Gaza – Ma’an – Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades reported to have killed eight Israeli soldiers taking cover in a home in Beit Lahiya on Friday.

The Brigades added in a statement that a Special Force of fighters attacked the soldiers “in a quick and qualified operation.”

The fighters broke into the home, killed at least eight soldiers and confiscated their weapons. The home the soldiers were taking cover in was in the As-Salteen neighborhood of Beit Lahia in the western Gaza Strip.
